Traditionally, RO/RO shipments such as cars, plant equipment are self-propelled; these shall ‘roll on’ & ‘off’ 

the vessel under their own wheels/power – Thus removing the need to handle with cranes or other equipment.

Shipments that are not self-propelled are generally placed on handling equipment with wheels allowing 

it to be handled in the same way.

Loading & discharge at BMT are via Quarter & Side Ramps of up to 450 ton capacity & shipments arrive/depart via 

an extensive selection of both Short-Sea/Regional & Deep-Sea/International Operators.

At BMT we pride ourselves on our RO/RO handling ability, ensuring quick vessel turn-around times combined 

with safe & secure cargo handling & storage. BMT can also offer to integrate shipments with other modes of transport, 

such as Containers, General Cargo & other intermodal options. Additionally, use of our Independent Customs 

Jurisdiction ensures an even smoother process with the minimum of delay.

Our Client Base includes many Carriers & Shippers engaged in this specialized mode of sea transport & the Terminal 

has exclusive relationships with a number of leading vehicle importers including Landover, Toyota & others.
