Here at BMT, we have a number of undercover storage options to store a vast array of cargo, from motor vehicles to bulk products, if required. Some of the cargo that we have stored includes:

  • Jumbo bags of various products (fertilizer, slag, cement, etc.)
  • Motor vehicles, from large trucks to high-end luxury cars
  • Maize
  • Break bulk products that require special storage
  • Weather-sensitive cargo

BMT is the only terminal in Umm Qasr Port offering ambient-controlled storage, thanks to its six warehouses. Total warehouse space stretches to approximately 45,000 m² and is strategically situated just beyond the quay apron, ensuring efficient transfer of cargo between vessels and storage facilities.

Refurbished in 2016 as part of BMT’s customer-centric approach, the warehouses were developed in alignment with BMT’s strategic planning to meet the demands of high-value, sensitive, hazardous, or bulk cargo storage. These facilities are designed to accommodate a range of customer requirements, including consolidation and deconsolidation services.

BMT’s warehouses benefit from its unmatched equipment pool and are supported by robust security measures. Each warehouse is equipped with eight static CCTV cameras, three PTZ cameras, and round-the-clock security personnel. Early fire detection and prevention systems, along with comprehensive pest control measures, ensure the safety and quality of stored goods.

Integrated into BMT’s operational management system, the warehousing services provide real-time reporting, allowing customers to monitor their ongoing operations with complete transparency.
