With no LOA restrictions and 800 meters of linear quay, BMT is uniquely equipped for efficient quay operations. The terminal possesses industry-specific grabs of varying capacities and advanced pneumatic handling equipment, enabling record-breaking throughput of up to 10,000 MT/day and 5,000 tons of bagging. Commodities such as DAP, soybeans, corn, rice, and other dry bulk cargo are managed with precision and speed.
BMT’s operational capabilities extend beyond vessel limitations. Equipped with 8 Mobile Harbor Cranes, each capable of handling 1,500 tons per hour, BMT ensures seamless operations even for vessels with restricted crane capacities. Its flexibility is further demonstrated by the ability to simultaneously handle bulk and big-bag cargo, adapting to diverse customer needs.
The terminal’s vast infrastructure supports efficiency as well. As the largest terminal at Umm Qasr Port, BMT has the largest designated vehicle parking area, providing sufficient space for standby and overnight trucks. Additionally, six ambient-controlled warehouses totaling 45,000 m² offer secure storage for weather-sensitive bulk cargo, ensuring that cargo remains protected under BMT’s custody.
