With a sea approach of 103 km, Umm Qasr Port is situated at the southern end of the Khor Al Zubair, where it joins the Khor Abdullah. Umm Qasr Port has direct access to major road networks and national rail links, servicing major oil and gas fields as well as urban areas in southern Iraq, Baghdad, and further north.

History:
Aloreen Investment commenced operations in September 2013 under Alak Misk Port Operations, focusing on general and project cargo. In March 2015, the name Basra Multipurpose Terminal was established as the largest multipurpose terminal in Iraq, servicing containers and other types of cargo alike.
