With a sea approach of 103 Km, Umm Qasr port is situated at the South end of the Khor Al Zubair where it joins the Khor Abdullah. Umm Qasr port has direct access to major road networks and national rail links, servicing major oil & gas fields and urban areas in Southern Iraq, Baghdad and further North.

History

Aloreen investment commenced operations as of September 2013, under the name of Alak Misk port operations, focusing on general and project cargo. In March 2015, the name Basra Multipurpose Terminal was established; the largest multipurpose terminal in Iraq, servicing containers and other cargoes alike
